Kevin Campbell has had his say on Everton’s chances of avoiding relegation.
Everton’s chances of staying in the Premier League were handed a huge blow after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Wolves today.
The Toffees headed to Molineux Stadium off the back of consecutive defeats to Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, though fans weren’t left too disappointed given the strength of both sides.
However, Sean Dyche’s were certainly expected to challenge for the win in the Midlands this afternoon.
With zero shots on target, Everton conceded three goals and came close to a fourth, which ended up being ruled for offside.
The visitors were ‘ripped apart’ in a humiliating loss that means they stay only one point above the relegation zone.
With tough matches against the likes of Aston Villa, Tottenham and Man City coming up, Everton really need to improve their form if they are to avoid ending up in the bottom three next month.
Despite claiming a 3-0 win was actually ‘kind’ to Everton, Kevin Campbell has still tipped his former club to be ‘more than alright’ in the race to avoid relegation.
Speaking on BBC Final Score after the game, Campbell said: “Can’t make excuses, you’ve got to compete out there. Wolves were by far the better side and, if I’m honest with you, three goals was probably being kind to Everton today because they just weren’t at the races.

“They need to get themselves back together, but I think if Everton keep playing – not this game – but the previous three or four games, I think Everton are going to be alright. More than alright.”
Should Everton be worried?
Everton have shown they are perfectly capable of beating teams and keeping their own net empty after making it four wins on the bounce prior to their defeat to Fulham in the Carabao Cup.
Things have turned sour in recent games, but there is no reason why they can’t get back to their best.
They already looked destined for the drop at the start of the campaign but they quickly improved, and making that quick turnaround is certainly plausible in the new year.
What Everton really need is a big win against the likes of Tottenham and Man City to massively boost their confidence, but for now their main focus can be progressing into the fourth round of the FA Cup with a trip to Selhurst Park next week.
