Everton are going to need to address a number of positions in this summer’s transfer window.

David Moyes has worked his magic on Merseyside in his three months back at the club in all but securing Premier League survival.

However, this cannot hide the work that needs to be done over the summer transfer window to get the club where they aspire to be.

Everton are not just looking at making additions to their playing squad, though.

The Friedkins are adding to their recruitment structure as they aim to put their own stamp on the club.

And there are already a number of players who the Toffees are shortlisting as possible targets to bolster Moyes’ squad.

TBR Football’s Chief Correspondent Graeme Bailey has informed Everton News of a potential race to land an exciting full-back.

Everton eyeing Tottenham battle for Sunderland’s Dennis Cirkin

Since arriving in January, Moyes has been keen to sign a new full-back with the options on the left-side extremely limited.

Vitaliy Mykolenko is Everton’s only senior left-back which has put a real stress on the Ukraine international remaining fit throughout the season.

But Bailey has told Everton News the Toffees are looking to potentially battle Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of Sunderland’s Dennis Cirkin.

“They are one of the teams who are looking at Dennis Cirkin the left-back at Sunderland,” said Bailey.

“We know Crystal Palace and Tottenham like him. Obviously, Everton are looking at Sunderland with Anthony Patterson, Chris Rigg and Dan Neil. The Championship is a division which David Moyes knows very well.

“Cirkin is someone on their list, and they are doing work on the full-back position, I know that.”

The Friedkins have full-back as a key target position for the summer transfer window after just months on Merseyside.

Everton will have a battle on their hands for Cirkin with his former club, Spurs, keen to potentially bring him back to north London.

Dennis Cirkin could provide more attacking threat than Vitaliy Mykolenko

Everton are keen to hand Mykolenko a new contract following a solid season from the Ukraine international.

As reliable as Mykolenko has been this season, there are some areas of his game that could be improved.

Although Cirkin has been playing in the Championship, the Sunderland left-back has shown some real threat in attack.

Cirkin has been hailed as ‘outstanding’ by pundit Sam Parkin on the Championship Check-In podcast for his showings this season.

Like a lot of Sunderland’s in-demand players, their potential promotion to the Premier League will likely have a big say on where their future lies.
