Everton have a number of players who are set to see their contracts come to an end over the summer.
It is a situation which has not been handled very well by the previous regime on Merseyside with a potentially huge overhaul being required.
Work has been done in an attempt to secure some players to extended futures, but the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s Everton future remains uncertain.
Some considerable change may be needed at Everton over the next couple of windows with the Toffees nowhere near to where The Friedkin Group will hope.
Everton are in the market to sign two new players in January, but there is also an eye on contract extensions with talks now underway with one of their regular starters.

Everton open Vitaliy Mykolenko contract talks
With the window having only just opened, Everton have shown an interest in Wesley to bolster their options at full-back.
The Toffees are also looking to address their current left-back with Vitaliy Mykolenko’s contract only running until next year.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton have now began talks with the Ukraine international over a contract extension.
Discussions have begun with the left-back to secure his future beyond 2026 on Merseyside.
Options at left-back for Sean Dyche are extremely limited, with Mykolenko facing very little competition for his spot.
Mykolenko has received a lot of criticism this season for his performances, but has remained a mainstay in the side.
This is likely to be news which will spark a mixed reaction from the Everton fans given the form the Ukraine international has shown this season.
Everton need to sign a new left-back
Clearly, Everton feel the £17m Mykolenko is worthy of playing more years on Merseyside as they look to extend his contract.
However, there must be another left-back brought in to the club over the near future to at the very least provide him with some competition.
Kyle Walker-Peters is an option Everton could explore with his future at Southampton coming under serious speculation.
Form aside, only having one senior left-back is a dangerous tactic with an injury to Mykolenko likely to cause a significant issue for the Blues.
