Everton are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window.
The Friedkin Group have big ambitions for Everton and are prepared to hand David Moyes substantial cash to spend.
The Toffees already have their eye on Sunderland’s Chris Rigg, who is perhaps the best teenager in the Championship.
Hamza Igamane has also been linked with a move to Goodison Park, however, there is some doubt over that deal now.
Igamane has hit a barren run of form with Rangers, so talks of a £25m transfer seem too soon for the young striker.
Now, a fresh development has emerged on Merlin Rohl, who is being targeted by Everton chiefs after impressing with Stuttgart.

Everton make contact to sign Merlin Rohl
Stuttgart’s Merlin Rohl has emerged as an Everton target over the weekend after a productive campaign in the Bundesliga.
Moyes is very familiar with Rohl, having faced him four times in the Europa League with West Ham United last season.
Clearly, Rohl caught the Scotsman’s eye and now Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has provided an update on the potential transfer.
Taking to X, Plettenberg confirmed that Everton have expressed ‘concrete interest’ in the 22-year-old, who dreams of a move to the Premier League.
The Bundesliga outfit want offers in excess of £17m to sanction his sale.
Rohl has worrying injury record
Everton have been plagued by injuries this term, so it’s important they’re recruiting smartly this summer – making sure that new recruits have a clean bill of health.
Unfortunately, Rohl’s injury record isn’t great, as he’s missed 12 games with a ligament tear and heel issue this season.
The Germany youth international remains on the sidelines at the moment and hasn’t been training in recent weeks.
He also missed the end of last season with a muscle fibre tear, so perhaps Everton should stay well clear of the attacking midfielder.
