Former Everton target Michael Olise shines for France
According to a report from TEAMtalk in 2020, Everton were in the race to sign then-Reading star Michael Olise.
Olise was making a real name for himself in the Championship, but it was Crystal Palace who managed to secure his signature for around £8m in 2021.
Now, the 24-year-old is a potential Ballon d’Or nominee after an incredible season for Bayern Munich, registering a whopping 53 goal involvements last term.
The Frenchman started for his nation alongside the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, helping them to a 3-1 win against Senegal.
Olise was actually the Man of the Match, laying on the assist for Mbappe’s first goal and making several other key chances.
Speaking after the game, France boss Didier Deschamps heaped praise on the former Everton target: “He can play on both sides, but the more often he gets on the ball, the better. It created more danger, and Kylian was clinical for us.”
What could’ve been for the Toffees.
