Everton are closing in on their first new signing of the summer transfer window.

David Moyes will have been delighted to see Carlos Alcaraz sign on a permanent basis earlier this month.

However, Everton fans will also be wanting to see a host of new names land on Merseyside to bolster the squad for the new campaign.

Everton are expected to be busy in July as the Friedkins are keen to allow the new PSR window to open before doing their business.

A lot of work needs to be done back at Finch Farm, with free agent departures creating some big holes in the squad.

Both quality and quantity are needed across the squad as Everton prioritise attacking signings this summer.

But a new defensive signing now appears to be just around the corner as his current club eyes his replacement.

Fulham eyeing replacement for Everton bound Kenny Tete

Everton are closing in on a move for Kenny Tete, who is set to leave Fulham on a free at the end of the month.

It is a move which has been met with a positive response as the Toffees face losing plenty of players as free agents.

According to GiveMeSport, Fulham are now eyeing their replacement for Tete, with Oliver Braude from Heerenveen on their radar.

Fulham only offered Tete a two-year deal, which will be bettered by Everton as he nears a move to Merseyside.

His move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium seems to be edging in the right direction now the Cottagers are looking to directly replace him.

Everton have been keen to sign a new full-back this summer, with a number of right-backs on their radar.

A move for Tete will likely bring an end to a lot of the rumours suggesting Everton hold an interest in Kyle Walker.

Everton make smart decision to sign Tete

The Friedkins are backing Everton this summer and will invest in the squad they inherited back in December.

Fans are going to want to see some big names signed, and that is only natural.

But the nature of Everton’s summer means Moyes is needing a lot of new signings to bolster the numbers as well as the quantity.

Adding free agents is going to play a big role in Everton’s summer and the loan market will also be viewed as a big opportunity to add numbers.

Fulham fans are devastated to be losing Tete, which goes to show the real coup the Friedkins are set to pull off.
