It’s the final international break of the calendar year and several Everton first-teamers will be in action for their respective nations.

Sean Dyche will welcome the break to regroup after murmurs of fan discontent following a dip in form.

The Toffees were held to a goalless draw by West Ham United in their last game and are now only three points above the relegation zone.

It’s no surprise to see that Jordan Pickford has been called up to the England squad and he will almost certainly keep his place as the nation’s number one.

Jarrad Branthwaite hadn’t been called up originally but was drafted in after several injuries in the Three Lions camp ahead of their important Nations League double-header against Greece and the Republic of Ireland.

Like Branthwaite, Jake O’Brien also missed out on a place in the Republic of Ireland squad initially after struggling to break into the starting XI since his summer move from Lyon.

Injuries meant he was then brought into the squad and could now line up against his club teammates during the break.

Orel Mangala has been a solid acquisition for the Toffees and has been called up by Belgium once again.

Mangala and his teammates have plenty of work to do in their Nations League group and sit six points off current group stage leaders Italy.

Vitaliy Mykolenko (Ukraine)

Left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko has had to hold down the fort on the left-hand side of defence due to the lack of options this season.

The 25-year-old will hope to play an important role in Ukraine’s Nations League campaign, with wins against Georgia and Albania potentially enough for them to top Group 1 of League B.

Everton’s Senegalese duo already know they will be heading to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after securing qualification last time out.

They now face a battle against Burkina Faso to finish top of Group L and face them in their first fixture of the international break.

Unlike Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gueye, Beto still has work to do to help his nation secure its place at the Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Guinea-Bissau currently occupy third place in Group I, four points off Mali and Mozambique, meaning two wins are almost certainly needed to qualify.
