Jamie Carragher, as a pundit who grew up supporting Everton, is often looked to as one of few people in the media willing to shed light on the struggles that come with supporting this club.

So, when he omits key information or abstains from involving himself in important debates, it hurts a fanbase that does rely on his profile.

His affiliation with Sky Sports has not helped this image either, with their ties to the Premier League drawing immense frustration from a fanbase sick of being downtrodden and censored.

But, at last Carragher has broken his silence on the ten-point deduction and this ongoing appeal process, suggesting that the English top flight are actually scared of the Toffees.

But what did the former Liverpool centre-back say about the situation? We take a closer look.

What Jamie Carragher said about the Premier League

Taking to X, the 2005 Champions League winner has questioned why a verdict has not yet been published, despite the trial having finished nearly two weeks ago now.

He suggests that the independent commission surely must have their answer, before inferring the Premier League fear how the outcome might be received live on next week’s Monday Night Football.

Carragher writes: ‘What is the hold up on the appeals decision regarding Everton’s 10pt deduction? Two weeks have passed, this is surely a matter of urgency for Everton & the clubs around them. I’m sure they & the PL know their decision by now. Are the PL waiting until after Everton’s home game on Monday because they fear the reaction’.

Jamie Carragher finally breaks his Everton deduction silence

Having come under intense criticism in the past for the manner in which he has dodged the topic of the Premier League’s involvement in the condemnation of Everton, at last the 46-year-old has spoken.

With the fanbase having rightly given him ‘dogs abuse’ for focusing that fury on Farhad Moshiri, now the Sky Sports pundit is shedding light on the inadequacies of the division itself.

Although, his criticism comes from the speed of their decision-making rather than the actual punishment itself, which was the real point of contention.

Regardless, it is refreshing to see such a high-profile media personality offer some support for the Toffees, who need all they can get in this ongoing battle with the Premier League.

And given that it comes from someone affiliated with Sky Sports is even more impressive, with the broadcaster having put themselves at odds with Evertonians for their shoddy coverage of various protests.

Perhaps this could mark a turning point in provoking other big names to stand up and voice their opinions, and in turn, apply the necessary pressure to get some justice handed to Everton.
