Everton have just three more games to play at Goodison Park before they prepare for their move in the summer.

An emotional goodbye awaits Everton over the coming month, with a date now set for the finale.

Everton vs Southampton will take place on Sunday, 18th May after a lot of deliberation from the Premier League.

The Toffees have shown some really positive form at home under David Moyes and they’ll be keen to keep that up on the weekend.

However, there will be a lot of excitement surrounding their move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

And there is already one Everton legend who has said he will be in attendance for the very first Premier League game at their new home.

Everton legend admits he’ll attend first Bramley-Moore Dock game

Moyes has finally visited Bramley-Moore Dock having avoided the new stadium amid Everton’s relegation fears.

The 61-year-old was impressed with the club’s new home on the whole.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Everton legend Duncan Ferguson has already said he’ll be there for the very first game.

“I go to one or two [games]. My kids have got season tickets. So they’ve got a few season tickets there and we’ll go to the new stadium,” he said.

“I’ve not been down yet, I’ve been by it a few times and I’ll go to the opening game. It’s exciting.”

Ferguson admitted he never wanted to leave Everton, but one thing that’s clear is the Scot still has a huge love for the club.

Having spent time on Merseyside as a player and a coach, Ferguson will certainly be welcomed to Bramley-Moore with open arms.

Goodison Park deserves a big send off

Everton fans did not want Goodison’s finale to be held on a Monday night, which was being suggested due to the FA Cup final.

Sense has prevailed, though, and the game will take place at midday on the Sunday.

Peter Reid expects Everton to have big plans for Goodison’s farewell and that could well include a number of club legends.

If that is the case, fans will be expecting to see Ferguson in attendance.

Goodison is one of the most historic grounds in the country and there’s no doubt it deserves a big send off.
