Former Everton manager who loved Farhad Moshiri publicly questions The Friedkin Group

The Friedkin Group have had their ups and downs so far in their tenure as a harsh critic has questioned their start at Everton.

Since joining, the Friedkins have shown that they are at the club to be sustainable and make sure everyone is pulling their own weight.

To make their ambition clear, the Friedkins want new investors at Everton to generate more money, which is a department Farhad Moshiri struggled in.

David Moyes had to make several transfer pleas which could be seen as a negative in the transfer market, but it’s only right the owners get judged next summer in terms of the strategy they provide.

A former Everton manager has come out and questioned whether the Friedkins will bring success to Goodison Park.

Sam Allardyce publicly questions The Friedkin Group at Everton

Sam Allardyce had a short tenure with the Toffees but a fairly solid one.

‘Big Sam’ as they call him, joined the Toffees in November 2017 being named as Ronald Koeman’s successor.

Despite guiding Everton 8th, which fans would take in a heartbeat now, he was replaced by Marco Silva.

Allardyce has had his fair share of managing football clubs, with Everton included in a list of 14, so the 70-year-old has had plenty of experience with ownership.

Speaking to talkSPORT breakfast with Alan Brazil & Ray Parlour (31/01/25) (2:36:50) Allardyce gave his admission on the Friedkins’ plans at Everton.

“It will be very interesting what the new owners do,” Allardyce said.

“They’re brand new, with a new manager, and even though they’ve picked you, are they going to work in the same manner, are they all going to pull in the right direction?

“You can only do that to get a successful football club. If you don’t do that, there are fractions between you and the hierarchy and life becomes extremely difficult.”

Allardyce loved Farhad Moshiri during his Everton tenure

Allardyce is one to make a big claim over his previous clubs, and it’s difficult to argue with him until the Friedkins show their worth in the long-term.

Allardyce believed Everton needed to replace Romelu Lukaku which is something the club still haven’t done, as the former Everton boss said it caused the Toffees issues.

This is fairly evident now with the Friedkins wanting a striker and could be something Allardyce would’ve sorted with former owner Moshiri if he was still in charge of the Toffees.

The two shared a brilliant relationship as Allardyce is a big fan of Moshiri which makes for stunning viewing as not many Evertonians would agree.

Allardyce’s suggestion is a little warning to Everton fans just to make sure the Friedkins are ticking all the boxes and making sure Moyes has their full support.
