Dominic Calvert-Lewin left Everton after nine years in the summer transfer window earlier this year.

Everton actually wanted to renew Calvert-Lewin’s contract, with David Moyes keen to work with him this season.

However, the towering striker decided to depart for new pastures and joined newly-promoted Leeds United.

Calvert-Lewin didn’t start well at Leeds, and their supporters were really questioning the former Toffees star.

However, the tide has changed in recent weeks, and after Leeds’ 4-1 win against Crystal Palace yesterday, the fans were all saying the same thing.

Leeds fans blown away by former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Calvert-Lewin scored a brace against Crystal Palace last night, taking his tally to seven Premier League goals this season.

Leeds fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to hail the 28-year-old, with many saying he’s been the signing of the summer.

@BillyLUFC13 said: “Is Dominic Calvert-Lewin the best free transfer of this season?”

“Dominic Calvert-Lewin should be in the conversations for signing of the summer. He’s changed my life,” @ellis_platten commented.

@boanthirdleg added: “Is Calvert-Lewin the best English striker atm? Answer is pretty obviously yes btw.”

“What a performance! To be 6 clear of West Ham at this stage is massive! Dominic Calvert-Lewin is an inspired signing! What a player,” @superlufc1919 noted.

“Get Calvert Lewin on that plane,” @maxdotlufc posted.

@LUFCFan17 reckons: “Calvert-Lewin with better finishing plays for a UCL side 100%.”

Daniel Farke says Dominic Calvert-Lewin can be a Leeds United hero

Speaking to the media post-match, Leeds boss Daniel Farke admitted Calvert-Lewin could well become a hero for the football club.

“Right now he’s on the on a path to be a top-class player for Leeds United and also a Leeds United hero,” Farke explained.

“But you know my attitude – I don’t like to speak about quality and top-class players just after a few weeks or a good couple of months.

“You have to show this with consistency over the whole season. But if he keeps going in this way and keeps delivering, then we would speak about an outstanding season.

“I want him to keep going, not to be happy with a good couple of months and a good few weeks, so he has to continue.”

The former Toffees striker has always had the skillset to become a top striker, it’s about keeping fit and getting into a rhythm.

Moyes will certainly have an element of frustration watching Calvert-Lewin flourish whilst Beto and Thierno Barry struggle.
