Everton have officially missed out on Graham Potter.
It has been confirmed this morning that Graham Potter is the new manager of West Ham United, after they sacked Julen Lopetegui.
The news has significance for Everton, with the club having shown interest in Potter amid mounting pressure on Sean Dyche.
But after all the speculation the former Chelsea and Bright head coach will not be making a move to Goodison Park, opting to head to the London Stadium.
In the end, West Ham were decisive by removing Lopetegui and creating an opening for a new manager.
The club must now look at alternatives, with Gareth Southgate among those on Everton’s radar.
David Moyes is also a possibility for Everton, with one new claim being made last night that he’d been keen on a return.
Potter to West Ham is done, but for Stan Collymore, he actually would have been better suited to Everton than his new club.
Stan Collymore outlines why Graham Potter is better suited to Everton than West Ham

Some Everton fans are disappointed over Potter, while others have quickly accepted the outcome.
But given the shocking performances of Everton in the final third this season, there is a sense that not getting Potter might be a regret for the Toffees.
For Stan Collymore, Potter is actually better suited to Everton than his new club West Ham.
He explained in his Caught Offside column: “In terms of Graham Potter, I think he’d be better suited to Everton than West Ham. They’re both idealists; the Academy of Football and the School of Science. Big clubs with a lot of expectation, but I think that Everton would suit him, because I think that there’s only the two clubs in the city.
“With West Ham, I think that their supporters, and I say this with the greatest of affection, they’re having themselves. West Ham fans talk and act as if they’re one of England’s most successful clubs but with one of the smallest trophy cabinets in that club size bracket.
“Everton would be the better destination for him, moving into a new stadium, new ownership etc. I don’t think at the moment anybody at West Ham is going to turn things around and into something akin to what Unai Emery has done at Villa.
“West Ham aren’t an attractive enough catch for an Unai Emery type and the cachet isn’t there yet, even with the Conference League win. Graham Potter and his coaching style… he’s just a pure coach and not a manager, not a ‘come follow me’ type.
“Everton, with a new stadium, a new start and given that they haven’t had great football there for a while. If Graham Potter could get them playing something like the kind of football that he did at Brighton, Evertonians would lap it up.”
Time will tell if Everton will regret not getting Graham Potter
So it’s official that Potter is the new West Ham manager.
The Friedkin Group have decided to keep Dyche in place and that has allowed West Ham to sack Lopetegui and swoop in on Potter.
Time will tell if this stance will prove costly for Everton.

Because things look bleak under Dyche right now, with many fans crying out for the new owners to bring in a more attack-minded coach.
How Potter gets on at West Ham will be fascinating, and hopefully TFG will not come to regret not making a hard enough push for the Englishman.
