Abdoulaye Doucoure left Everton last summer after five years at the club.

Doucoure joined Saudi Pro League team NEOM SC on a free transfer, rejecting interest from Premier League clubs, including Leeds United and Sunderland.

The 33-year-old was offered an extremely lucrative two-year contract, so he’s probably going to end his career in Saudi.

The former Toffees midfielder was out of action for all of January and most of February, but has been involved in four of the last five games.

Doucoure’s side aren’t one of the better teams in the division, as they’re currently languishing in eighth place.

He plays alongside some high-profile players, most notably Alexandre Lacazette and Said Benrahama.

NEOM’s manager is former Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier, who was appointed a few weeks before Doucoure signed.

It seems they’re building a team they hope will be able to compete with the likes of Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli in the future.

Doucoure is entering the final year of his contract.
