‘I want to say’: Chris Sutton has now predicted Brentford vs Everton

Chris Sutton has made his prediction ahead of Brentford vs Everton this weekend.

Writing for BBC Sport, the pundit predicted a fifth defeat in six games for the Toffees.

Everton went unbeaten against the Bees last season, claiming a point on the road before earning themselves a vital win at Goodison Park back in March.

However, Sean Dyche’s side will have to put on a very impressive display to overturn the hosts this time round.

Everton have only one point to their name this season after drawing 2-2 against Sheffield United before the international break, while Brentford have six. However, Thomas Frank’s side have already drawn three matches and have only one victory.

The London club suffered their first defeat of the campaign to a controversial penalty against Newcastle United last weekend and will now be desperate for redemption against Everton.

While the Toffees desperately need to take something away from Saturday’s match, Sutton has predicted an easy 2-0 win for the Bees.

“This is a big game for Everton, and a really difficult one too,” Sutton said.

“Sean Dyche’s side did not lay a glove on Arsenal last weekend and they surely have to offer more of a threat here – but they will have to be very careful when they go forward against a Brentford side who are so good on the break.

“The Bees have only lost once this season, against Newcastle last time out. They were unlucky there, because the penalty decision that decided that game was harsh, but I think this is where they bounce back.

“It must be miserable being an Everton fan at the moment because even when they have created opportunities, like they did against Fulham and Wolves earlier this season, they haven’t taken them.

“I want to say they will score this time, but I can’t see it. Instead, I think there is more misery in store.”
