Everton defender Jake O’Brien has now been handed a fresh lease of life on Merseyside.
After signing in the summer from Lyon, there was some big expectations for the giant Republic of Ireland international.
O’Brien has been working with Leighton Baines in Everton training to try and improve in his new role as a right-back.
The 23-year-old has endured a turbulent start to life on Merseyside, but David Moyes quickly made him a key member of his starting XI.
Following the sacking of Sean Dyche, the defender has finally been able to begin his life in the Premier League after a bleak start.
Dyche has been slammed for his treatment of O’Brien, and the Irishman has only gone on to show what a huge mistake the 53-year-old was making.
O’Brien has now commented on his relationship with Dyche.

What Jake O’Brien said to former Everton manager Sean Dyche
BBC Sports’ Danny Murphy has been so impressed by O’Brien after the defender has finally been given an opportunity in the side.
Under Dyche, those chances in the starting XI were just not being offered despite signing in the summer for a significant fee.
Speaking to Off The Ball, O’Brien has shared some of the conversations he had with Dyche before the 53-year-old was sacked.
“I know there’s a lot of things going around saying we didn’t get on, it wasn’t like that,” said O’Brien.
“I think we just saw things in a different way and don’t get me wrong, we’ve got two good centre-backs. But I think there was times throughout the season where I could have gotten a better chance to show what I’m like. I let that known to him and we just didn’t see eye-to-eye in those few months.
“I think he’s been a good manager in his career and at Everton, but I just think it wasn’t the right thing with Sean.”
Everton fans have loved watching O’Brien in the starting XI under Moyes, even though he is playing out of position.
But that just goes to show the differences between the two managers, as Moyes took no time in placing O’Brien into his starting XI.

Jake O’Brien has become an Everton mainstay
Moyes has been praised for saving O’Brien from the harsh treatment he had under Dyche.
And it is a decision which has really paid off with the defender helping the Toffees in both areas of the pitch.
His performances only go on to show just how baffling of a decision it was from Dyche to leaving him out of the starting XI.

Everton captain James Tarkowski hailed O’Brien a ‘monster’ after being seriously impressed by the defender following Moyes’ return to Merseyside.
The big question now is how long O’Brien will play out of position at right-back.
