Everton are up against it returning from the first international break of the season with no points on the board.

Sean Dyche‘s side have left a lot to be desired in their opening three games with the latest defeat to Bournemouth summing up a pitiful start.

But it is now time for Everton to get some points under their belt with the Toffees currently sat rock bottom of the Premier League table.

With the start to the season already sparking relegation concerns, Dyche finds himself under pressure at Everton.

And Jamie Carragher has now shared his honest thoughts on the issues which Dyche faces at Goodison Park.

Jamie Carragher shares Sean Dyche problem at Everton

Things are not going to get any easier for Everton this weekend as they face an away trip to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Alan Shearer has already predicted Villa to beat Everton even ahead of their opening Champions League game on Tuesday.

But there are bigger issues at stake over the coming weeks for Everton as they have shown some major issues in the opening weeks of the season.

Speaking in his column for The Telegraph, Carragher has shared his concerns for Dyche in the dugout at Goodison.

“Dyche’s recent reference to the fickle elements of the Goodison support went down particularly badly, the highs at the end of last season, especially a memorable Merseyside derby win, giving way to jeers after the opening day defeat by Brighton in this one,” said the former Liverpool defender.

“Dyche’s recent reference to the fickle elements of the Goodison support went down particularly badly, the highs at the end of last season, especially a memorable Merseyside derby win, giving way to jeers after the opening day defeat by Brighton in this one.

‘The trouble with Dyche is he makes it sound like he is doing us a favour being here,’ is a comment I regularly hear from my Everton-supporting friends and family.

“In their minds, Dyche ought to be more grateful that he is the Everton manager because he would not be there but for the owner’s mismanagement. It was not so long ago that Everton had Carlo Ancelotti on the touchline and they were dreaming of Champions League football.”

Sean Dyche needs the Everton fans on side

Carragher is referring to Dyche’s blunt message to the Everton fans after the defeat on opening day against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Dyche wasn’t impressed by the number of fans who departed Goodison early despite being on the end of a heavy defeat.

Calling out the fans is not something which Dyche can really afford to be doing in the position which he finds the club.

If Everton are going to be in yet another relegation fight, the manager is going to need the fans on his side.
