Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s Everton future is hanging in the balance.

There’s been widespread speculation around Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is out of contract in the summer.

It’s understood David Moyes wants Calvert-Lewin to stay, however, there’s been no progression in contract talks.

West Ham United have shown a serious interest in Calvert-Lewin, whilst the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle have also been circling.

Asked about the Everton striker’s situation, former Chelsea star and TNT pundit Joe Cole shared the conversation he had with him at Finch Farm last week.

Joe Cole lifts lid on conversation with Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Calvert-Lewin is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, with Everton seemingly no closer to tying him down to a new deal.

When asked about his future at Goodison Park on TNT Sports, Cole revealed that the 28-year-old told him he feels really good.

“Talking to him on Wednesday, he looked happy, he said his body feels good, you know.

“He’s a fabulous player when he’s fit and he’s at it. He can be as good as [any] number nine around.”

With that said, perhaps Calvert-Lewin could pen fresh terms with the Toffees, as Cole believes he’s happy on Merseyside.

Everton should move on from Calvert-Lewin

Calvert-Lewin has endured a really inconsistent career with Everton, with injuries plaguing his development.

This season, the former England international has netted just three goals in 22 appearances, so he’s left a lot to be desired.

For that reason, given the Friedkin Group’s lofty ambitions, Everton should cut their ties with Calvert-Lewin and allow him to leave on a free.

That would free up his £120,000-a-week wages (per Salary Sport), so it makes sense from a financial perspective.

Moyes wants to sign Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, who would join as his replacement.
