West Ham now considering bid to sign ‘one of Everton’s best and most important players’

The January transfer window is in full swing and Everton are yet to make any additions.

It’s understood Everton are now keen to sign a left-back following David Moyes’ return, with a right-back and wide player already on the transfer shortlist.

Lyon’s Ernest Nuamah is close to joining The Toffees whilst there’s been a suggestion that Kyle Walker-Peters could make a switch to Goodison Park.

A striker has to be a priority, too, as Armando Broja looks set to spend a substantial period of time on the sidelines after being stretched off against Peterborough United last week.

The need for a centre-forward will only accelerate if Everton decide to sanction a sale to West Ham United, who are now considering a bid.

West Ham United consider Dominic Calvert-Lewin bid

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been linked with a move away since last summer, with Arsenal, Newcastle United and Atalanta all still interested in landing his signature.

Calvert-Lewin is out of contract in the summer and talks have not progressed in renewing it, so it’s now inevitable he will leave this year.

That said, according to GiveMeSport, West Ham United are now considering a bid to sign the out-of-form Everton striker this month.

The Hammers have just suffered a major blow as Niclas Fullkrug is set to be out for months with a serious hamstring injury.

So newly appointed manager Graham Potter is in the market for a replacement and the club are set to make an enquiry to gauge the feasibility of the deal.

Everton should cash in on Calvert-Lewin

This is the last chance for Everton to cash in on Calvert-Lewin and given he’s been badly out of form, netting just two league goals, it makes sense to offload him this month.

Calvert-Lewin was once considered ‘one of Everton’s best and most important players’ but his form has dropped off a cliff over the last two seasons.

So if the Toffees can get a decent fee from West Ham, they should look to reinvest that in a more reliable and prolific frontman.

Evan Ferguson has been mooted with a move to Everton.
