Everton will be in the market for a centre-forward this summer transfer window.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to leave on a free transfer, whilst Armando Broja is due to return to his parent club Chelsea.

Beto will evidently need help next season, so it’s understood Everton are keen on signing Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.

Liam Delap has enjoyed a sensational breakout season in the Premier League, netting 12 times despite operating in a relegation-threatened side.

Everton fans are desperate to sign Delap instead of Evan Ferguson, who has been linked with a move to Goodison Park.

And now, transfer specialist David Ornstein has shared an update on his potential next move.

Man United aim to complete early deal for Liam Delap ahead of Everton

Delap is set to be hot property this summer, having established himself as one of the best young strikers in the country.

In fact, Danny Murphy has even tipped him to become Harry Kane’s successor for England, that’s how highly-rated he is.

“He’s got a lot of qualities. I mean I’ve seen him quite a lot this season and I’d probably go as far as to say, for me, he’s the obvious long-term successor to Kane,” Murphy said.

So it’s hardly surprising to see such widespread interest in Delap and unfortunately for Everton, it looks as though Manchester United may wrap up an early deal to sign him.

“The suggestion is that Manchester United want to complete the deals of Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap early in the window even before any sales have been made,” Ornstein explained.

The Red Devils, despite their poor season, are still an attractive proposition for most players in the country.

And, they offer some of the biggest wages in Europe, so with that in mind, Everton will surely have to look elsewhere for a centre-forward.

Everton could turn their focus to Hamza Igamane

Everton were showing a serious interest in Hamza Igamane during the January transfer window, but ultimately, they opted against meeting his £25m valuation.

The Rangers striker has netted 15 goals whilst laying on three assists in his debut campaign in British football.

It would be a typical Moyes signing as he likes to recruit within these shores and it has shades of the Nikica Jelavic transfer.

So, it wouldn’t at all be surprising to see Everton pivot and move for Igamane, who is considered one of the best players up in Scotland.
