Everton are interested in signing Assan Ouedraogo.
That’s according to Florian Plettenberg, who has reported that the Toffees could challenge Liverpool for his signature.
Ouedraogo joined Schalke’s academy in 2014 and impressed last season with four goals in nine games in the U-19 Bundesliga. The midfielder was promoted to the first team squad during pre-season and marked his professional debut with a goal in their 2. Bundesliga clash with Hamburger SV in July.

His first half goal solidified him in the history books as he beat Julian Draxler’s record as Schalke’s youngest ever goalscorer, as well as becoming their youngest player ever in competitive matches at 17 years and 80 days old.
The teenager has now made a total of nine appearances and six starts for Schalke this season and has been dubbed the ‘German Paul Pogba‘ for his impressive performances.
His quality displays have already been recognised by multiple Premier League clubs, with Everton joined by Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion in their pursuit. The youngster reportedly has a €20 million (£17.3m) release clause that will become active next summer.
Could Everton land AssaOuedraogo?
Ouedraogo is one of a number of exciting prospects that Everton have been linked with in recent weeks as they look to improve their transfer business and focus on young stars for the future.
The 17-year-old has already earned himself a regular spot in Schalke’s first team and could potentially make an impact on the Premier League in a few years time.

Ouedraogo’s release clause seems a lot for a player so young, however it could end up being a bargain considering his potential and the calibre of clubs interested in him. Though it would end up coming down to wages and where Ouedraogo wants to go, with another report claiming Manchester United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are also interested.
If Everton can complete their takeover and also remain on the Premier League then they could become an attractive prospect if they are more likely to be able to offer him first team football, though a German teenager may struggle to turn down the opportunity to join Bayern.
