Kevin Thelwell could repeat his Iliman Ndiaye masterclass by signing £12m winger for Everton in January

Everton’s January transfer window could be a revolutionary one, should Dan Friedkin first get in charge, and then choose to splash the cash.

Both of these notions remain up in the air though, despite Alan Myers providing an Everton takeover time frame just yesterday.

Nothing is set in stone from this new ownership, and their silence on the matter, until things are completed, is a good sign.

However, despite this lack of information, Kevin Thelwell will still seek to bolster the squad of Everton manager Sean Dyche in the coming window anyway.

He has already identified one target that could certainly provide a boost to their wide options.

Everton interested in signing Samu Chukwueze from AC Milan

Everton’s interest in Samu Chukwueze has been longstanding, with the Nigerian winger a target of the Toffees since way before he moved to AC Milan.

However, as Thelwell has proven numerous times before, he is not afraid to return to an old target, even years after first noticing them.

Iliman Ndiaye is one such example, who had been of interest to Everton even during his Sheffield United days.

Now, he might be set to repeat this masterclass with Chukwueze, who is reported available for just £12m after a tough start to life in Italy.

Swooping in to sign an undervalued long-term target of theirs, capitalising to bring in a star for a cut price, there are shades of Ndiaye within this Chukwueze deal.

After all, the 25-year-old remains a top talent, even if he has failed to make the grade in Milan.

His final season at Villarreal saw the speedster notch 13 goals and assist a further 11 across all competitions, earning him a move elsewhere and earning praise from UEFA licensed coach Lee Fletcher: ‘Samuel Chukwueze is absolutely electric! It is not even funny how fast he is.’

However, since then he has posted just eight goal contributions in 43 games, thus seeing his stock fall.

This was a similar trajectory endured by Ndiaye, who shone in Sheffield, struggled in Marseille, and is now a hero at Goodison Park.

Already Evertonians have outlined their admiration for him, with Ndiaye loving his new chant too.

Perhaps Chukwueze might enjoy a similar resurgence on Merseyside, bringing his own trickery and dynamism to electrify fans and revive his career.

And, in turn, Everton will secure another bargain.
