Everton left it late in this summer’s window to get their final pieces of business over the line but it was a strong end to the market.
For a while, Sean Dyche had been suggesting Everton were all done in the market following the signing of Asmir Begovic.
The Toffees had seen five new faces land at Goodison Park ahead of deadline day but that was not going to stop them acting on any late opportunities.
One of those arrivals was the former Nottingham Forest midfielder Orel Mangala who only officially left the Premier League side this summer for Lyon.
However, there was still more to come from the Blues and the late business done left Kevin Thelwell absolutely delighted.

Kevin Thelwell reacts after Everton pull off late signing
Everton were forced to submit a deal sheet to the Premier League to complete their final piece of business in landing Armando Broja.
The Chelsea striker had been linked with a move away all summer but it looked, at one point, like Ipswich Town were set to beat Everton to Brija’s signature.
But the Blues have managed to get their man into the club despite the deal being confirmed hours after the deadline.
The deal was confirmed in the early hours of this morning with Everton landing Broja on a season-long loan wiht the option to buy.
And it is a deal which has left the director of football, Thelwell, very pleased with the transfer window now shut until January.
“Having monitored Armando’s journey for a number of years, we’re very pleased to have been able to bring him to the Club,” he told the club’s website.
“Armando is still a young player who has already built up some impressive experience but someone we also feel has lots more potential to be unlocked.”
Armando Broja is currently out injured
Although those within the club are delighted to have signed the Chelsea striker, Broja is arriving at Everton with an injury.
The club statement did not put a timescale on his issue but did note that it was a foot injury which the Albania international was suffering.
“First and foremost, we will work with him to get him fit as soon as possible. Then, his addition will strengthen our options in the attacking department,” Thelwell added.
Despite being hailed as ‘really exciting‘ in the past, Broja has a lot to prove having failed to really make his mark in the Premier League just yet.
