Everton fans will be excited to see what can be done over the summer transfer window.

After real fears surrounding the club’s Premier League survival under Sean Dyche, David Moyes has been able to steady the ship.

Big changes have been made by the Friedkins since they were handed the keys to Goodison Park in December.

Everton are planning for a big summer transfer window following a very quiet winter market, which only saw one loan signing made.

Significant player turnover is going to unfold at Everton over the coming months, with players coming to the end of their contracts.

But it seems their first summer signing is already lined up.

Everton expected to secure bargain deal for Carlos Alcaraz

The only addition of the winter window was midfielder Carlos Alcaraz on loan from Flamengo until the end of the season.

Moyes has been impressed by Alcaraz in his early weeks on Merseyside, as the Argentine looks to earn himself a permanent stay.

Taking to social media, former Flamengo director Marcos Braz has suggested Everton will not be paying the £15m clause in Alcaraz’s loan agreement.

“Haven’t they realised? He hasn’t and won’t reach the target, the English club will exercise the purchase anyway, that’s gone,” he said.

“He won’t earn Flamengo anywhere near the amount quoted in the article [from GE Globo].”

It is suggested that Alcaraz needs to start six games before the end of the season for Everton to trigger the £15m purchase clause.

Flamengo manager Filipe Luis regrets Alcaraz’s departure with the 22-year-old already looking like a smart addition to the Everton side.

If the Blues can land Alcaraz for less than what they agreed, then that will be one final gift from Kevin Thelwell, who is expected to leave Everton.

Carlos Alcaraz already looks like Abdoulaye Doucoure’s successor

Ahead of the summer, Abdoulaye Doucoure’s Everton future is in doubt as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

Alcaraz has already stepped in as the Mali midfielder’s replacement on two ocassions in recent weeks.

Doucoure was absent for the game against Brentford on Wednesday for family matters and Alcaraz shone in his first start against Crystal Palace.

Moyes thinks Alcaraz’s fitness still needs improving, but the Argentine midfielder has already made a positive impression on Merseyside.
