Jake O’Brien was Everton’s hero on Wednesday night after he secured them a point against Brentford.
Yoane Wissa provided the Bees the lead inside the first half with a sloppy goal from an Everton point of view.
However, David Moyes gave his side a reality check during the break as a much better Everton side appeared for the second half.

Everton have now gone seven games unbeaten in the Premier League for the first time since 2017 under Sam Allardyce.
Although the Blues may feel another two points were left out on the pitch, there were some positives to take for Moyes.

David Moyes praises Everton’s Carlos Alcaraz
Moyes was left furious with Jack Harrison during the game against Brentford with the winger showing a real lack of quality at times.
However, there was one player who the 61-year-old did shower praise on after the game.
Speaking to Everton TV, Moyes hailed Carlos Alcaraz’s display in the absence of Abdoulaye Doucoure who was unexpectedly unavailable.
“Isn’t it what we want? We want players providing competition; we want players who we can bring off the bench to help us,” said Moyes.
“I thought Charly played really well tonight; I just thought he ran out of a little bit of juice towards the end. If we had another midfield player, we probably would have changed him.”
Moyes has been singing Alcaraz’s praises for weeks now following his loan move earlier in the year from Flamengo.
Whether his showing in west London will be enough for him to secure his spot in the starting XI is another question altogether.
Carlos Alcaraz is really impressing at Everton
Doucoure may be sweating over his starting position at Everton again following another solid outing in his place from Alcaraz.
The Argentine is really showing what he is capable of when the Mali midfielder is absent.
And Wednesday night was no different as he proved a real attacking threat for the Toffees in their visit to west London.
- 90 minutes played
- 55 touches
- 3 key passes
- 1 big chance created
- 2/2 successful dribbles
- 2 tackles
Alcaraz loves the Everton fans already, and with performances like what he is putting in, there is little doubt the feeling will be mutual.
