Everton had a couple of debutants against Leeds United on Monday.

Jack Grealish made his Everton debut, and so too did Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who was the only new signing to start the game.

Dewsbury-Hall covered the most distance of any player on the pitch and showed plenty of encouraging signs.

The £28m signing was constantly trying to make things happen and push his side forward despite operating in a weakened side.

After the game, Dewsbury-Hall made a promise to Everton fans on social media.

Dewsbury-Hall took to Instagram after the game and admitted that there is plenty of work to do on the training pitch.

“Lots to improve, and it’ll happen! Top top support,” the Everton midfielder wrote.

He also praised the travelling supporters, who created a brilliant atmosphere in the away end at Elland Road.

Dewsbury-Hall has already made a big impression around Finch Farm as Thierno Barry has immediately spotted his quality.

“The first time I met him in training, I saw the quality of him,” Barry said to Everton’s website. “I think he can give me (good passes) this season.

“I’ll try to create (those opportunities) this season. So I try to create a good relationship with him.”

Everton desperately need new signings

There is an understanding among players that the Toffees must bring in new signings before the window shuts, as James Tarkowski was hopeful of at least two additions, speaking to Sky after the game.

Moyes is keen to get even more than that, as when asked if he’d like three or four, he said: “I could say even more possibly, but I would settle for any of those numbers if I can get them.”

With 13 days remaining of the summer transfer window, the Toffees are up against it, but there are deals in the pipeline.

Tyler Dibling is heavily linked with a move to Finch Farm, and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has recently been tipped to join.
