Everton will now be needing to turn their focus from Wednesday night’s dramatic Merseyside Derby draw.

David Moyes is taking his side down to the capital where they will face Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

After a month under the Scotsman, Everton have been able to climb up the table and create a 10-point gap on the relegation zone.

It has not all been positive, though, with Everton set to miss Iliman Ndiaye through injury for a number of weeks after he suffered medial ligament damage.

The Senegal international has been the shining light in a turbulent season for the Toffees.

However, there was something which Peter Crouch very much enjoyed about Everton on Wednesday night even after Ndiaye was withdrawn.

Peter Crouch impressed by Everton atmosphere vs Liverpool

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has praised Everton for their ability to prevent his side from making their usual impact on a game.

It was a real heart performance from the Blues who put in a display which was worthy of a point in any derby.

Speaking on That Peter Crouch Podcast, the former Liverpool striker admitted he loved what he saw at Goodison Park.

“If you look just behind Slot, Pickford’s doing a knee slide. So he’s [Slot] going mad about the push, but if you look behind him there’s one of the best knee slides I’ve ever seen from Jordan Pickford. The scenes were outrageous,” said Crouch.

“I obviously want Liverpool to win that and it was disappointing that Tarkowski scored, from my point of view.

“But I just thought, as a spectacle, I think you’ve got to applaud it. I think that’s what we miss a bit now in football.”

Moyes has sparked a turnaround at Everton which has the fans back interested in their side.

The atmosphere at Goodison was a real spectacle, with the Goodison crowd adding to what was a real throwback game between the two sides.

David Moyes labels Merseyside Derby a throwback game

The game had just about everything with Slot even getting annoyed by the Everton fans as he felt they were winning their side free kicks.

Atmosphere, goals, drama, red cards, the final derby at Goodison really did have it all.

And it was apparent after the game, once he caught his breath, Moyes felt similarly to Crouch in that was a game which fans do not often see anymore in modern football.

“It was right up there and it was great at the end. I think the night was maybe made for something to happen,” Moyes told TNT Sports.

“It wasn’t the greatest, it wasn’t the cleanest game of football you’ve ever watched but it was a bit of a throwback, a bit scrappy for both sides.
