Everton are now looking to strengthen their squad after a dismal finish to the 2025/26 season which saw them miss out on European football.

The Toffees put together a run of seven games without a win to end the campaign, leaving fans very unhappy.

David Moyes has come in for a lot of criticism from fans.

Are there any players from the relegated clubs you want to see Everton go after this summer? 🤔

But the Scot appears to retain the faith of the hierarchy and so, he will surely play a bit part in the club’s recruitment this summer.

It’s likely that Moyes will again seek to bring in experienced players.

And they don’t come much more experienced than Kieran Trippier, who is said to be of interest from Everton.

And today, there’s been a small update on the veteran.

Kieran Trippier targeted by Saudi Arabia amid Everton interest

Trippier is leaving Newcastle with his contract expiring at St. James’ Park.

The full-back joined the club as the first signing after their takeover, joining the club in January 2022.

And his contributions have been plentiful for the Magpies, with many of their fans rating him as one of their best signings of the PIF tenure.

But it’s time for a new chapter for Trippier, and Everton are in the mix to sign him.

According to the Daily Mail, Trippier has a string of potential suitors right now, and it’s actually Wolves who form the main part of the article.

The Old Gold just got relegated, but have held talks with Trippier.

But there is also potentially more competition for Everton in the form of Saudi Arabia, where he’d likely be able to earn handsomely.

Currently the player is said to be on holiday, suggesting no decision is imminent.

Everton can do better than Trippier

While Trippier would probably be a good player to have for the dressing room, and it would be relatively low-risk since he’d be coming in on a free, Everton ought to be aiming higher.

Evertonians are disgruntled at the moment and ideally, there will be a conscious effort to lower that average age of the squad for next season.

It’s hard to imagine that will happen though with Moyes in charge.

So there is probably every chance we see Everton actually go for Trippier.

Unless the offering from Saudi is simply too good to turn down, of course.
