Everton made just one addition in the Janaury transfer window, with Carlos Alcaraz joining on an initial loan deal from Flamengo.
The Toffees did explore a deal for Michy Batshuayi, however, David Moyes wasn’t convinced after conducting background checks on the Belgian striker.
Everton also made a late move to sign Tom Fellows, but the Friedkin Group decided to pull the plug on the deal to save funds for the summer window.
Moyes is now expected to have substantial funds at his disposal when the season ends, so there could be some mega-money signings.
Everton are also in a much better position to keep ahold of their best talent and with that said, there’s been a fresh report about Jarrad Branthwaite’s future

Jarrad Branthwaite back on Man United’s radar
Since Jarrad Branthwaite’s £1m transfer from Carlisle United in 2020, there’s been a lot of excitement around his potential.
And, Branthwaite has certainly been fulfilling his early promise over the last couple of years, ever since his loan spell at PSV.
The England international is now widely regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the country and that’s put a number of clubs on red alert.
According to GiveMeSport, Manchester United could attempt to sign him this summer after failing in their pursuit last year.
Ruben Amorim could look to add more Premier League experience to his backline and the Everton defender is believed to be on their shortlist along with Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.
Everton hopeful Branthwaite will stay for stadium move
It’s understood Everton are hopeful Branthwaite will remain on Merseyside ahead of the move to Bramley Moore-Dock.
The new stadium is expected to play a big factor in Everton’s finances and they’ll now have the power to retain a lot of their best players.
The Friedkin’s are set to pump a substantial amount of money into the football club this summer and part of that will likely be on offering bumper contracts, with Branthwaite certainly in line for a renewal.
His current deal will be up in two years time when the summer arrives.
