One player Everton sold a few years ago could now be heading back to the Premier League, with Liverpool ready to test the waters with a transfer bid.
Everton fans are excited about a new chapter under The Friedkin Group after their takeover of the club back in December.
This summer, The Friedkin Group are expected to hand Moyes a healthy transfer budget, as the club seek to build a squad good enough to challenge for Europe.
There will likely be an emphasis on signing young players with big potential, given there were plenty of signings under Farhad Moshiri who did not fall into that category.
But one man who actually did, was Ademola Lookman.
Lookman joined Everton in 2017 from Charlton Athletic and had a couple of years at Goodison Park before leaving for RL Leipzig.
These days Lookman is one of the top wingers in the world after really coming to life with Atalanta over in Serie A – and now, he could potentially be on his way back to the Premier League.
Liverpool in transfer battle for former Everton winger Ademola Lookman

Lookman’s future is up in the air at the moment.
He had been linked with an exit from Atalanta anyway, but recently, Gian Piero Gasperini publicly shamed Lookman for missing a penalty in their Champions League defeat to Club Brugge.
TEAMtalk report Liverpool are readying a £37 million transfer offer for the star.
But this will more than likely not be enough – with the Italian outfit looking for around £53.7 million to sell.
It is stated that there is ‘intense competition’ for African Player of the Year winner Lookman ahead of the summer, and that Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain are also showing interest at the moment.
Marco Silva thought Lookman would be the future of Everton
It will be intriguing to see if Liverpool do indeed make a push to sign Lookman this summer, and him in a red shirt would be disappointing to see for many Evertonians.
Lookman left Everton on the watch of Marco Silva in 2019.
As per the Guardian, Silva initially strongly believed in Lookman, describing him as ‘ a good talent’ and ‘our present and our future’. But the Portuguese’s patience with the player soon became stretched.
Lookman was said to have shown ‘tactical indiscipline’ and ‘a lack of defensive effort’.
There were also day-to-day issues according to the publication, quoting Silva as saying: “I keep believing 100% in his quality as a football player. But what I want to see is the same desire coming from him, each day, to achieve that, to reach that level he wants and the level I believe he can play at.”
In the summer of 2019, Lookman left Everton to join RB Leipzig on a permanent deal.
