Everton have finally announced their final signing of the summer as Merlin Rohl arrives on deadline day.
It was a long wait for a deadline day deal, but Everton have confirmed the 23-year-old German has joined on an initial loan with an obligation to buy.
The Evertonians had to wait for it, but it’s finally worth it, as the Blues welcome their new number 34.
David Moyes wanted nine signings this summer, and his wish has been achieved with the addition of the Freiburg midfielder.
With his arrival, Everton fans think Rohl is a ‘serious player’, and the midfielder has described where he will fit in best.

The German has impressed at under-21 level for the national team, and is another young player to join this exciting Everton squad.
Rohl is similar to Abdoulaye Doucoure, but taking into account the age of the midfielder, it’s certainly an upgrade.
Speaking to the Everton media, Rohl has described where he could play in Moyes’ set-up, and it adds to the competition at the club.
“I see myself as a box-to-box midfielder, and I feel I can bring my qualities to this team after having discussions with the manager,” Rohl said.
“I think versatility is a strength of mine, and the style of my game will suit the Premier League.”
This will excite fans as versatility is certainly a strength, as the 23-year-old can play in both a defensive role and as an attacking outlet.
Rohl can also flourish on the left wing, which gives the Toffees boss the ultimate player, and he’s certainly going to get the Blues faithful on his side after what he went on to say.

With the ninth signing confirmed this window, Rohl will make for a strong addition to what is looking like a promising squad.
Of course, the Toffees wanted a right-back, but the window has still been a success, and Rohl seems to be bringing the right mentality.
Speaking further to Everton’s media, the German said: “The Everton fans are passionate and demand hard work, and that’s what I like as it matches what I can bring.”
Rohl has been compared to Leon Goretzka as well, which shows the level he could really get to at Everton.
