David Moyes lays down the gauntlet by publicly informing the Friedkins how many signings he wants

David Moyes will be growing impatient over a lack of signings being made at Everton this summer.

With The Friedkin Group now through the doors on Merseyside and well adjusted to life in England, it is time for moves to be made.

Everton have seen three permanent signings made, but only two of those additions are new faces to Moyes.

Thierno Barry has joined up with his new teammates for the United States pre-season tour, but Moyes will want to see more follow.

There is still plenty of time for the Blues to get their business done, but it looks as if Moyes is going to need to push for significant additions before the start of the 2025/26 campaign.

It is believed that Everton have £100m to spend this summer, but the Toffees do not exactly seem in a rush to spend it.

David Moyes states how many Everton signings he wants

Everton want to capitalise on the American market, and the pre-season tour will be full of commercial gigs for the Toffees.

But there was one arrangement on Friday night in New York which Moyes used to his advantage.

Speaking on the Men In Blazers show, the 62-year-old shared his transfer demands in front of a live crowd of Everton fans.

The full episode is still awaiting publication, but many in attendance shared key points from the recording.

And it has been claimed Moyes publicly stated he wanted to see nine signings made before the end of the window.

With three already in the bag, Moyes will now be looking for at least six new faces to land on Merseyside ahead of 1 September.

Angus Kinnear expected a busy summer at Everton following his move from Leeds United just a matter of months ago.

The new Everton CEO is going to have to get to work if he is going to match Moyes’ target, given he needs to make an average of more than one signing per week.

Everton must utilise the loan market

Clearly, a £100m budget, which has already been eaten into – will not provide enough cover for Moyes to get what he wants.

But Everton could use the loan market to their advantage.

The Toffees have four slots available to bring players in on a loan basis, but they need to learn from their mistakes made last summer.

Moyes was so underwhelmed by Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom at right wing, with the pair both returning to their parent clubs.

If Everton are to have a successful season, they cannot afford to get their loan signings wrong again, with Armando Broja also proving to be a disastrous addition.

The money will not stretch this summer for what Moyes needs. So, the 62-year-old will be requiring Kinnear to use all of his experience to come up with some real coups.
