There was plenty to unpack from what was an uneventful win for Everton vs Nottingham Forest.
David Moyes’ transformation of the club made a major step by beating high-flying Forest on Saturday.
Everton just need Ipswich Town to drop points in their next game for safety to be secured, as Moyes will be thrilled with how his return has panned out.
Micah Richards said Moyes’ Everton are more ‘risky’ which gives clear signs as to why they’re performing so well.
But Richards also spotted something an Everton player did, which sent a clear message to Moyes, and he loved it.

Micah Richards loved what Abdoulaye Doucoure did in Everton win
It was a day to remember for Abdoulaye Doucoure, who scored a tidy finish to secure the three points so late on for Everton.
This goal had a clear impact on the manager as Moyes said Doucoure was underrated, and that might hint to his future.
The midfielder’s contract comes to an end this summer and after Everton rejected an extension for Doucoure, The Friedkin Group might want to think twice now.
Doucoure signed a contract as his celebration, and this was something that grabbed Richards’ attention.
Speaking to The Rest Is Football, the pundit claimed what Doucoure did was ‘cocky’ and said what he should’ve made clear to the media after the win.
“Do you know what I loved about that celebration,” Richards said.
“He acted all cocky with the celebration, as soon as a camera is in your face, where’s the cockiness gone!
“He should’ve said, ‘I’ve played well, I’m vital to this squad, what more do I have to do to show you.”

Doucoure performance vs Forest shows Everton should take action
With the midfielder’s future up in the air, Doucoure showed exactly why Moyes should keep hold of him.
It’s clear that the manager has great respect for the 32-year-old, but even Doucoure doesn’t know where his Everton future lies.
Despite there being uncertainty, it should be a no-brainer to keep the Mali international around the club, not only for his performance on Saturday, but his ability to clutch up for the Toffees in big moments, which he has done so often.

The only thing potentially stopping the club from giving him a new contract is his excessive wage, as Doucoure is Everton’s highest weekly earner at £130,000.
Doucoure could come to a compromise to decrease his wage, and should do so going off his desire to stay.
