Everton have had some iconic strikers over the years.
Romelu Lukaku and Duncan Ferguson are considered the best number nines Everton have had in the Premier League era.
Ferguson, especially, is still adored by Toffees supporters and worked at the club for a number of years as a coach and interim manager.

Prior to the 21st century, Micah Richards has just come out and stated that Everton had a striker who was like Kylian Mbappe.

Gary Lineker’s Everton spell compared to Kylian Mbappe’s at Real Madrid
Speaking on The Rest Is Football Podcast on Netflix, Richards compared Gary Lineker’s trophyless spell at Everton to Mbappe’s at Real Madrid.
Richards: “You mentioned Everton, you going to tell people what happened when you were at Everton?”
Lineker: “I did alright.
Richards: “You didn’t win the league did you?”
Lineker: “No, I didn’t win anything.”
Richards: “Then they won it the year after you left.”
Lineker: “And the year before!”
Richards: “But he scored all the goals. He was like Mbappe at Madrid, didn’t win anything!”
How would you feel about Hayden Hackney becoming Everton’s first signing? 🤩
Lineker netted a quite remarkable 38 goals in just 53 appearances for the Toffees before joining La Liga giants Barcelona in 1986 for a considerable fee at the time worth £2.8m.
The 80-cap England international did win the PFA Players’ Player of the Year in his only season on Merseyside.
And, Lineker also won the Community Shield twice with the club, so some would argue that as a credible trophy.
Ultimately, they missed out on the most important prize, the league title, by two points to Merseyside rivals Liverpool.
