Despite Everton’s success in midfield on Saturday, David Moyes will still be looking to strengthen in the middle of the park on deadline day.

Moyes will be thrilled with Everton’s performance against Leicester City as a 4-0 win speaks volumes to the Scotsman’s impact.

Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure starred for the Toffees but James Garner’s return was the real difference in how Moyes’ side played so fluently.

Despite this, The Friedkin Group want a midfielder for Everton, which has been clear for a while.

However, the Friedkins’ main target for deadline day seems to have taken a blow.

Junior Dina Ebimbe rejects deadline day move to Everton

Everton still expect two signings this window and with Carlos Alcaraz looking like the first, the Toffees could strengthen with more midfield options after injury woes.

With rumours continuing to circulate, Frankfurt enforcer, Junior Dina Ebimbe has been in talks with Everton as Kevin Thelwell will be looking to secure a deal for the 24-year-old.

However, this transfer coming to fruition may have just been ruled out completely.

Speaking in the post-match press conference of Frankfurt’s 1-1 draw with Wolfsburg on Sunday, Frankfurt CEO, Markus Krosche has had his say on Dina Ebimbe’s future.

“Junior will most likely stay, I have already spoken to him,” Krosche said.

“He wants to stay and take on the fight. That is a good sign.”

Everton transfer target Dina Ebimbe is too crucial for Frankfurt

With The Frenchman looking likely to leave Germany this window, Dina Ebimbe was close to returning to his home country having completed a medical with AS Monaco, but the deal fell through completely.

Everton’s interest isn’t a surprise as Dina Ebimbe has been compared to Jude Bellingham clearly highlighting his importance to the Bundesliga side.

Despite being injured this season, the 24-year-old showed his ability in the Bundesliga last season and proved why he has been so crucial to Frankfurt.
