Everton lost Mohamed-Ali Cho in 2020, and the Nice forward has reflected on his time at Goodison Park.
Harrison Armstrong continues to shine for Preston North End, and Everton fans should be excited about his development.
Everton have struggled in terms of bringing through young players of late, but there is real hope that Armstrong can become a star.
Other former Toffees talents have enjoyed success elsewhere, with Antonee Robinson’s rise at Fulham springing to mind.
Mohamed-Ali Cho left Everton at an even younger age and looked set to become a sensation at one point.

Mohamed-Ali Cho reflects on Everton exit
Cho joined Everton from the Paris Saint-Germain ranks in 2015, aged just 11.
An exciting forward, Cho appeared to have huge potential for the future, but he decided to leave Everton at 15.
Cho returned to his native France with Angers and ended up becoming a first-team regular in Ligue 1.
Real Sociedad spotted Cho’s quality and lured him to San Sebastián in 2022, but he couldn’t fulfil his potential in Spain.
Now with Nice following another return to France, Cho has told Give Me Sport that he has no regrets over joining Everton.
Cho loved his time at Everton and felt that he learned a lot during his time in the Toffees academy.
The Frenchman added that Everton were ‘in a different position’ at the time, having been around the top six around the time of his arrival, compared to some battles towards the bottom in recent times.
“I was 15, going to 16, and the club was in a different position than it is now,” said Cho.
“But it is just happy memories. I had a lot of fun there, and I’ve still got some friends from over there. I don’t regret one bit being in the Everton Academy because I learned so much. Even my education, everything overall, in a general way, I learned a lot, and it made me into who I am right now. I don’t regret one bit of playing there,” he added.
Mohamed-Ali Cho hasn’t kicked on as expected
Cho looked like becoming a real star during his time at Angers.
Four Four Two named Cho as one of the 50 top teenagers in the world back in 2022, and interest was mounting.
RMC Sport reported in 2022 that Liverpool wanted to sign Cho, with a price tag of around £35million mentioned.
A return to England failed to materialise, and Cho has instead blown hot and cold at Real Sociedad and Nice.
Perhaps Cho will earn a Premier League move one day, but as things stand, the 21-year-old hasn’t quite kicked on as many expected.
