Everton are seeing yet another one of Farhad Moshiri’s past mistakes come back to bite them.
Recent transfer windows on Merseyside have not provided Everton fans with a great deal to shout about.
Iliman Ndiaye has impressed at Everton since signing in the summer, but the hit rate has been few and far between for the Blues.
David Moyes was only able to see one new face come through the doors at Finch Farm over the January transfer window in Carlos Alcaraz.
That is because Everton were hamstrung by PSR with a keen eye being placed on the upcoming summer transfer window.
Kevin Thelwell has hinted towards a summer of spending at Everton with the club’s PSR nightmares now able to be put behind them.
But there is one decision made by the former owner, Farhad Moshiri, which could soon be set to embarrass the Toffees.

Liverpool keen to sign former Everton winger Mohamed-Ali Cho
Everton face Liverpool in the final Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.
But their rivalry could also be set to seep into the summer transfer window with Liverpool eyeing a player who used to play for the Toffees.
According to Team Talk, Liverpool are showing an interest in signing the French winger Mohamed-Ali Cho.
He is a name which will be very familiar to the blue side of the city already having spent time in the club’s youth system.
Sources close to the club have confirmed Liverpool’s interest in the versatile winger who is capable of playing across the front three.
There are a number of ironies in this with Everton having just suffered a difficult period of PSR trouble where they could have done with more players like this to potentially sell on for big money.
But Moyes was keen for Everton to sign a new forward over January with their financial limitations holding any deal back.
Everton may have lost out on a £41m player in Mohamed-Ali Cho
The 21-year-old left Everton’s youth system in 2020 to join French outfit Angers on a free transfer.
Now playing his football at Nice, the winger has been able to provide a return of five goals and three assists across all competitions.
Speaking in 2021 to Outest France, the president of Angers admitted he wanted to see offers in the region of €50m (£41m) for the talented youngster.
Although the forward was still extremely young when Everton allowed him to leave, it is a deal which has not reflected well on Moshiri.
And if he is to return to England and shine with Liverpool, it is a decision which will not sit well with the Evertonians.
