Former Everton forward Kevin Campbell has said that the club have no reason not to sign 27-year-old forward Moussa Dembele this summer.
The ‘powerful’ attacker is available on a free transfer after his contract expired with French side Olympique Lyonnais, and Campbell insists there is ‘no excuse’ for Everton not to sign him.
Everton desperately need to recruit attacking players this summer and may have limited funds, with free transfers and loan deals likely to be explored.

Indeed, Campbell, speaking with the Falcon Blues TV YouTube channel, believes Dembele could be a solution to Everton’s goalscoring woes.
He states: “I quite like the link with Dembele. He’s on a free. Is there an excuse? There’s no excuse. That’s somebody you could make it work with.
He knows the Premier League, he’s played for a lot of top clubs around Europe and he’s still young. What is he, 26? He’s not even at his peak yet, so he’s definitely someone who could do a job at Everton.”

Everton should prioritise luring Moussa Dembele to Goodison Park
Everton scored a meagre 34 goals in the Premier League last season and stayed in the top-flight by just two points, with a last day victory over Bournemouth securing safety.
Adding goals to the lacklustre forward line is a must this season, and a player of Moussa Dembele’s calibre is an opportunity the club cannot miss, especially for free.

The 27-year-old scored 56 goals in 129 games during his time in France, with an impressive 21 strikes in 30 league outings during the 2021/22 campaign.
As Campbell states, Dembele has plenty of years left in him and should be a priority for Everton this summer.
Indeed, there is ‘no excuse’ for not securing the Frenchman’s signature.
