Wilfried Gnonto may not want to join Everton this summer.
That’s according to journalist Graeme Bailey, who has admitted he isn’t convinced that the Toffees will land the Leeds United attacker.
Everton have been in negotiations over a move for Gnonto all summer and reportedly had a £15 million bid rejected for the forward earlier this month.

While it looked like the Merseyside outfit had been leading the race to sign Gnonto, it now looks like they could fail in their pursuit to land the youngster.
Speaking on the Football Transfers podcast, Bailey said: “It’s not looking good. There’s Willy Gnonto but I’m not 100% convinced that Gnonto wants to go there.”
Recent reports have also claimed that Gnonto could now remain at Elland Road this season, despite their relegation to the Championship.

Everton could sign Tete instead of Wilfried Gnonto
Everton have already started looking at alternatives to the Italian and are instead considering a move for Tete, who has just terminated his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Due to Ukraine’s ongoing war with Russia, the forward was able to bring his stay in Donetsk to an end five months early and he is now available on a free transfer.
Tete joined Leicester City on loan back in January and scored a goal on his debut in their 4-2 win over Aston Villa, however he failed to net again for the Foxes and started only half of their remaining games in the Premier League.
The Brazilian has already been offered to Al-Ittihad, Fenerbahce and two Italian clubs, meaning Everton will have to act fast if they are to land the free agent.
