It’s safe to say that Everton have landed on their feet following the departure of Sean Dyche.
It had seemed as though Everton were set to see out the season with Sean Dyche at the helm.
New owners The Friedkin Group had intended to back him, but the picture very quickly changed after the defeat to Bournemouth on January 4.
Everton lost 2-0 and then, Dyche left the club days later, on the day of the club’s FA Cup game with Peterborough United.
Dyche apparently told The Friedkin Group he couldn’t take Everton any further, which forced the new owners to take action.
A severance package was agreed and Dyche left. Days later, David Moyes was appointed – and Everton have not looked back.
No manager has taken more points than Moyes since he came in, and Everton are now 14 points clear of the relegation zone.
Moyes’ success so far perhaps doesn’t reflect too well on Dyche. Especially considering Everton had a very quiet January transfer window and is essentially working with the same players Dyche was struggling to get the best out of.
But seemingly, there is still some demand for Dyche. Recently, Derby County fans called for their club to hire Dyche, but they have since appointed John Eustace.
But now, one Premier League fanbase is suggesting their club should really be targeting Dyche.
Leicester City fans want former Everton manager Sean Dyche

Leicester City were beaten 4-0 by Brentford on Friday night, and are now five points adrift of safety.
Their position is very precarious, and the appointment of Ruud van Nistelrooy hasn’t really worked out.
Defensively they’re all over the shop, and so, that has led some to call for Dyche to come in and save them.
For all of Dyche’s shortcomings at Everton, he did make the Toffees very solid at the back.
Dyche would struggle to save Leicester
As was the case at Everton only a couple of months ago, things are looking very bleak for Leicester right now.
The Foxes are conceding far too many goals, but they have also now stopped scoring, having bagged just three goals in their last 11 Premier League games.
That is a very worrying tally, and Everton fans will be the first to tell Leicester supporters that Dyche is not known for playing free-flowing, free-scoring football.
Sean Dyche at Everton (Jan 2023-Jan 2025)
Games managed – 83
Wins – 26
Draws – 24
Losses – 33
Goals scored – 99
Goals conceded – 102
Points per game – 1.23
It would be a very tall order for Dyche to keep Leicester up if the club did move for him if they sack van Nistelrooy.
The former Everton manager’s reputation has taken a battering in recent months, and he likely won’t want a potential relegation on his CV.
