Despite Everton’s exit from the FA Cup, Carlos Alcaraz showed exactly why David Moyes signed him on deadline day.
Everton have now officially played their final-ever FA Cup fixture at Goodison Park, after the Toffees lost 2-0 to Bournemouth.
Goals from Antoine Semenyo and Daniel Jebbison in the first half left Moyes with his second defeat since his return after three consecutive wins.
Moyes suggested Alcaraz could make his Everton debut, which he did coming off the bench in the 65th minute.
Evertonians will be glad he did, as Paul Merson gave his verdict on the Argentine’s Everton debut.

Paul Merson gives opinion on Carlo Alcaraz’s Everton debut
The 22-year-old has already been a bit of a rebel at Everton after Alcaraz wore a snood breaking Sean Dyche’s rule.
He showed that attitude in his performance as well, as just seven minutes into his debut, Alcaraz hit the post from a free kick.
It would’ve been the perfect start for the midfielder, as Merson gave his opinion on Alcaraz when speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday.
“In the first couple of minutes since he’s come on, Alcaraz has looked very, very good,” Merson said.

Alcaraz’s Everton debut against Bournemouth in numbers
Despite the result, Toffees fans have something exciting to look forward to judging by Alcaraz’s 25-minute cameo.
Moyes’ first signing on his second spell has got every chance of being a success after his performance against the Cherries.

In just 25 minutes it can be argued Alcaraz looked the best attacking player on the pitch for Everton.
Alcaraz can show flexibility at Everton, but judging by his debut he can do a lot more than that.
