It has been a controversial fallout following Everton’s draw on the weekend against Manchester United.
Everton thought they had been handed an opportunity from 12 yards out to clinch all three points in the dying moments of the game.
However, VAR overruled Andy Madley’s penalty decision, which left David Moyes and his players perplexed.
A number of people have since been left baffled by the decision with Ashley Young’s shirt clearly being tugged by Matthijs de Ligt.
But it now seems an apology could be heading the way of Merseyside following a recent development.

BBC Sport reporter expects Everton to receive PGMOL apology
Dermot Gallagher has said VAR got Everton’s penalty wrong during his latest appearance on Sky Sports’ Ref Watch.
“For me, the best solution is to stick with the referee,” Gallagher said.
“What they showed him was that [side-on] angle over and over again and if the ref had been shown the through-the-net angle, he’d have stuck with his decision.”
This is a considerable surprise given Gallagher does usually have the back of the officials during his analysis segment.
And it seems the weight of his comments have sparked an expectation from BBC Sport journalist Giulia Bould that an apology could be headed the way of the Toffees.
‘Apology incoming…’ she simply wrote on social media following Gallagher’s comments.
Jake O’Brien has slammed referee Andy Madley and has even suggested the official was poor even before the penalty incident.

What David Moyes said about PGMOL following VAR controversy
Everton need to put the controversy behind them as they have one final game against Brentford on Wednesday before their short break.
Moyes is taking Everton on a warm-weather training camp to the United Arab Emirates ahead of their following game against Wolves.
Ahead of the trip to west London, Moyes has, however, shared what has been said between PGMOL and the club since Saturday.
“Obviously, we’ve been in touch to check it out and we’ve spoke with the PGMOL and it’s gone, we can’t do anything more about it, it’s gone,” said Moyes on Tuesday.
“It’s mainly been the secretary, Jonathan, who has spoken to them and Jonathan’s just feeding bits back to me. But look, to be honest, once we didn’t get it I’ve just got to move on.”
