‘Please do it’… Everton fans all buzzing after hearing which English gem David Moyes could now sign

Everton are set to become busier on the incomings front after a sluggish start to the transfer window.

The club have only signed Carlos Alcaraz so far, but obviously he was on loan for the second half of the 2024/25 campaign so fans don’t really see him as a new face.

Everton had reached an agreement with Kenny Tete last weekend.

But Fulham have presented an improved contract offer to Tete, so there is now some concern the Dutchman may choose to stay put after all.

Everton are looking to strengthen in many positions at the moment, and one area that is high on the agenda is right wing.

And last night, Everton were said to be battling other clubs to sign Omari Hutchinson.

Hutchinson suffered relegation with Ipswich Town at the end of 2024/25 and could now be set to move on after just one year at Portman Road as a permanent player.

Given the level of interest, which stretches to at least five other clubs at the moment, Everton may have difficulty landing him.

But some fans would certainly not be opposed to a move.

Hutchinson scored three goals and made two assists in 32 appearances last term.

It was a tough campaign for Ipswich in the Premier League, but Hutchinson and Liam Delap did catch the eye for Kieran McKenna’s side.

Everton, of course, were ready to fork out £30 million to sign Delap.

That is supposedly the valuation of Hutchinson, so it will be interesting to see if Everton make a bid around that figure.

On social media, some fans have been discussing and the general consensus is that David Moyes should indeed be trying to sign him.

@evertonmongrol: “Wouldn’t mind him.”

@Toffeecrunch24: “He was decent against us at Goodison in April, so wouldn’t be against this.”

@CoreyTomlinson: “We need to act and stop talking.”

@aide_dews: “Wouldn’t say no. Found it tough last season but that’ll stand him in good stead. Looked bright so far for England U21’s these Euros.”

@MeDoyle88: “Only 21, first full season in Prem last year in a poor Ipswich team. Was fantastic in the championship the year before with 10 goals and 6 assists Plays across front 3. Exactly the profile I want to see at Everton this summer.”

@LiamHoward32001: “Please do it.”

Some will look at Hutchinson’s numbers from last season and feel slightly underwhelmed about Everton being linked.

But ultimately, he is still only 21 and that was his first proper season playing in the Premier League, and he was in a very poor side.

According to Breaking The Lines: “Thrives off his ability to carry the ball and take on a man when it comes to it, often isolating his opposition full-back and taking the man on to cross or even have a shot.”

And there is also something about Hutchinson that Moyes will particularly appreciate.

BTL continue: “Not only is he a strong option going forward, but his excellent work rate also gets shown week in week out. His defensive ability rounds his game out well, always eager to get back and help the team even if it isn’t him losing the ball.”

It was noted that Hutchinson can be a little sloppy with his passing.

But ultimately, he is seen as a ‘special talent’, and a player with a very high ceiling – he could certainly get fans out of their chairs at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
