Everton’s squad is set to undergo major squad surgery this summer transfer window.

Several players are out of contract at Everton and there is evidently a pressing need to add quality to the attacking ranks.

It emerged on Sunday morning that Everton are plotting a £38.5m move for Aleksandar Mitrovic, who would come in to replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Jack Grealish is also being linked to the Toffees, with the Manchester City winger set to leave the Etihad Stadium after being excluded from Pep Guardiola’s Club World Cup squad.

But now, it’s just emerged that David Moyes is set to complete his second signing of the summer after Carlos Alcaraz.

Everton set to sign Kenny Tete from Fulham

Everton have been eyeing Fulham’s Kenny Tete as they look to replace Ashley Young, who has announced his departure.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, they have reached a verbal agreement to sign Tete.

The Dutch right-back was in talks to extend his deal with the Cottagers, but has evidently snubbed a new contract and will now join Moyes’ side as a free agent.

Romano notes that a deal will be completed next week, with a three-year contract readied for the 29-year-old.

Tete signing rules out Kyle Walker deal

With Tete set to make the switch to Merseyside, it appears interest in Man City right-back Kyle Walker has cooled.

Everton were looking at Walker and had gained information that he was open to playing under Moyes, however, it seems as though the club feel Tete is better value.

The former Ajax defender is in the prime years of his career, unlike Walker, who recently celebrated his 35th birthday.

Everton now have Tete, Jake O’Brien and Nathan Patterson as options on the right side of defence, which is pretty strong.
