As David Moyes begins his second tenure as Everton boss he will have to build a solid backroom staff to join him.

Moyes is back at Everton as he looks to guide the Toffees away from a relegation battle this season.

The Everton manager has made his first key decision already, as Moyes will appoint Billy McKinley as Everton assistant, after spending time with the 55-year-old at West Ham.

Another revelation has occurred at Goodison Park with Director of Football Kevin Thelwell supposedly set to depart Everton.

With many changes already happening, one coach has ruled out the possibility of a reunion with Moyes.

Kevin Nolan won’t be a part of David Moyes set-up at Everton

Kevin Nolan has revealed he will not be a part of the coaching staff having previously worked under Moyes at West Ham.

The former Bolton Wanderers captain has started a new venture as manager of League One side Northampton Town grabbing his first win last Saturday against Burton Albion.

Speaking to BBC 5 Live, Nolan made it clear he’s happy where he is and won’t be having a reunion with Moyes.

“David (Moyes) would be a fantastic thing for the Everton fans, for him, for his family. He still holds Everton close to his heart.

“When I spoke to the owners of Northampton, I knew this would be the right time for me to step back in and become a no.1 because it’s what I’ve always wanted to do.

“I’m comfortable where I am and I wish Everton all the best because I’ll be right behind them.”

Nolan claim proven wrong as Moyes will search for a new coach

With people assuming Nolan was joining Everton with Moyes it may bring up questions about who the Scotsman will see to now.

Moyes will need both experience and tactical knowledge to help save Everton from their potential relegation to the Championship this season, something that has never happened to the Toffees.

Moyes will need to improve Everton’s attacking approach with Evertonians frustrated at their club only scoring 15 Premier League goals this season.

Alan Irvine was another Nixon mentioned Moyes could bring in, with former Everton player, Irvine, focusing more on attack in past roles (BBC Sport).

Irvine worked with Moyes at West Ham as well, as the pair could endure success at Everton after their brilliant work at West Ham.
