Everton will be delighted with the work David Moyes has done since January.
Moyes took on a struggling side from Sean Dyche which looked destined for a stressful battle against relegation.
Instead, the 62-year-old has turned things around at Everton are guaranteed them Premier League football for next season.
With the Friedkins ready to spend in the summer, things are certainly looking up for Everton.
A move to Bramley-Moore Dock over the coming weeks is also going to transform the club’s trajectory after their recent years of struggle.
But their relegation worries over recent years could have potentially been avoided had they hired the man who has just admitted he came so close to joining.

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira shares how close he was to joining Everton
Since he was appointed, Moyes has silenced some of his critics in the media by guiding Everton to a much-improved run of form.
There have been a number of standout managers this season and Moyes will certainly be regarded as one of them.
Another is Wolves manager Vitor Pereira and he has told BBC Sport just how close he came to being appointed Everton manager instead of Frank Lampard.
“Do you know how many meetings I had here? The first one, West Bromwich, in the Premier League, maybe 15 years ago,” he said.
“The second? Everton. Third? Crystal Palace with the proposal, with the contract for two and-a-half years.
“OK, we can celebrate with a pint and then they changed the idea for another but I realised that is normal here.”
When the two managers met earlier in the year, Moyes was held to a point by Pereira’s side at Molineux.
It has not all been smooth-sailing for the 62-year-old as Moyes has not slammed Everton’s set pieces in his latest press conference.
But Everton fans will be more than satisfied with the work he has done since landing back at Goodison.
Vitor Pereira has been nominated for Premier League MOTM
April was a difficult month for the Toffees.
Everton faced their toughest run of fixtures of the season in playing the entire top six at one point.
The results were mixed, but the hard work in clinching survival were largely done before the month started.
As for Pereira, he has enjoyed a solid run of results at Wolves and has even been nominated for the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award.
Chris Sutton has praised Moyes for the turnaround at Everton, but the Wolves manager definitely deserves his flowers following a strong run of results.
