Everton’s summer transfer window has not exactly got off to a flying start.

David Moyes will need to be patient as he awaits the first of the new faces to arrive on Merseyside this summer.

Fans will also need to bide their time, with Everton expected to deal in the new PSR year, which opens up after the turn of the month.

The Friedkins have landed on Merseyside and are playing it very sensibly by keeping Everton on the right side of PSR.

Although this is a huge positive, the Toffees cannot afford to miss out on their targets through sitting on their hands waiting for July.

Nottingham Forest have now opened talks with a player who is believed to be of great interest to Angus Kinnear at Everton.

Everton face Nottingham Forest battle for Timothy Weah

Late last week, it was suggested Everton were still showing interest in Timothy Weah following their January approach.

But there is now interest growing across the Premier League, with the American’s future at Juventus becoming uncertain.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest have now opened talks over a potential move for Weah this summer.

No agreement has been reached between the clubs, which leaves the door wide open for Everton should they wish.

Personal terms are also yet to be agreed with Weah, who is currently playing at the Club World Cup in his homeland.

Everton battled Fulham for Weah on January’s transfer deadline day, and it looks as if interest from England is only growing.

Any move for Weah this summer is yet to reach an advanced stage. So, the door remains wide open for any club to disrupt the plans at the City Ground.

Juventus are open to Timothy Weah summer exit

An interesting summer awaits Weah as the Turin-based club are open to sanctioning his exit.

What is perhaps even more interesting is that Forest are in talks with Juventus about securing a double deal.

The Reds are also keen to land Samuel Mbangula from Juve, which could potentially sweeten the deal for the Italian outfit.

If Everton are to land a deal for Weah, then the Blues may have to stump up a deal that will blow Forest’s early talks out of the water.
