Everton will be in the market for new players this summer – and fans are urging David Moyes and The Friedkin Group to go after one Premier League star who’s set to become a free agent.
Moyes will receive a healthy transfer budget this summer, and there is optimism that the club will be able to spend a decent amount to improve the squad.
Everton have been hamstrung by PSR in recent times.
But it’s thought the Toffees will not have as many issues this time, as TFG seek to make some statements in their first summer window since their takeover of the club.
While fans are expecting cash to be splashed, there will surely still be scope for loans and free transfers.
And one player Everton fans have been talking about today on social media is Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard.
Norgaard stands to leave the Bees this summer, with the Denmark international out of contract.
In recent days there have been suggestions that Everton could be interested – and fans have now dropped their verdicts.
Everton fans really want Christian Norgaard on a free transfer

Norgaard has been with Brentford since 2019, making 185 appearances for the club.
He joined them after an unsuccessful spell with Fiorentina, and Norgaard really has been a solid signing for them, helping them gain promotion to the Premier League and contributing to their status as an established top-flight club.
He has also been their captain since 2023.
On social media, Some Evertonians have made the plea for their club to sign Norgaard this summer, believing him to be a potentially very good pick-up on a free.
@Lea_EFC said: “Smart business this if we can make it happen.”
@siewakes20 added: “He’d be a shrewd signing. Really rate him.”
@slcarey_ was also keen, saying: “30 years old but deffo would add strength to squad in the middle of the park.”
There was no doubt for @JSEFC_, who said: “Absolutely. Quality player.”
@__B_I_ said: “100% very tidy player, much rather him than Soucek.”
Norgaard could be a great signing for Everton
Although perhaps on the most glamorous signing on paper, Norgaard could really make a solid addition to the Everton squad.
As much as TFG will want to bring in those star names, it’ll also be important for them not to overlook players who may not be so high profile.
Norgaard has been a consistent performer in the Premier League for years with Brentford and that experience could be ideal for Moyes next season.
He is turning 31 in a few days, but Norgaard is still in fine fettle and could be a great player to have in the squad. Everton may also look to sign an alternative to Orel Mangala, who suffered a serious knee injury and may not make a return to the club.
Back in December, Thomas Frank said of Norgaard (via BBC Sport): “Every team has one or two players that are the glue, makes the team tick, or better just by stepping on pitch.
“Norgaard is one of the players that does that for us. The amount of interceptions, second balls he wins, his ability to keep the ball and play the pass forward is key.”
Following praise like that, Everton should surely be all over Norgaard, who was also voted the Players’ and Supporters’ Player of the Year at Brentford at the end of 2023/24
