Everton’s have now learned the extent of Orel Mangala’s knee injury.
It has been a mixed start to life on Merseyside for David Moyes who has been able to improve the results with two consecutive wins.
However, Everton have not seen any movement in the winter transfer window with injuries continuing to pile up.
Everton were concerned by Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury picked up on the weekend against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The striker was not the only one to sustain an injury with Mangala also being withdrawn before full time.
On Tuesday night, the extent of the Belgium international’s knee injury was shared.

Orel Mangala injury update out of Everton
On Monday, Mangala shared a cryptic message following his injury on the weekend which did hint towards a lengthy spell out.
And late on Tuesday night, Everton fans’ worst fears were shared.
One club insider took to social media to share that the midfielder had suffered serious knee ligament damage.
With the midfielder now looking set to miss the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign, Everton have opened talks with Lyon over his future.
Mangala is, of course, on loan for the season with Everton now suffering another serious injury to a loan signing.
Everton and Chelsea are in talks over Armando Broja’s future, with the striker also suffering an injury recently.
This is far from ideal for the Toffees.
Everton need to sign a midfielder before the deadline
The Friedkins were always keen to sign a new midfielder for Everton before the deadline comes around next week.
That may have just been made a priority following the news of Mangala’s injury blow.
Options are available for the Toffees with Everton keen on Carney Chukwuemeka along with a number of other midfielders.
But it is not all bad news on the injury front with Moyes seeing James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam make their returns from their own respective injury issues.
The 60-year-old has made a bright start to life on Merseyside, but this is not what he will have hoped to see happen in his opening two weeks.
