It’s been a busy week for Everton, with a managerial change finally being made at Goodison Park.
Sean Dyche left the club on Thursday, just hours before the club’s FA Cup game with Peterborough United.
The Friedkin Group concluded Dyche had given up at Everton, after he told them he’d taken them as far as he could.
Details have been emerging about Dyche’s final days in charge.
Supposedly, Dyche upset the Everton dressing room when he publicly criticised Jarrad Branthwaite for his defending in the 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth.
Dyche had also claimed the Everton players did the opposite of what he asked against Nottingham Forest, after which some felt the writing was really on the wall.
Graham Potter was of interest to Everton before he went to West Ham United.
But Everton have now appointed David Moyes as Dyche’s successor, and for broadcaster Richard Keys, it’s clear who has the better manager.
Richard Keys suggests David Moyes is better than Graham Potter

A lot of Everton fans did want Graham Potter to succeed Dyche, and there was some disappointment when West Ham announced him as their new manager.
Because Potter’s style of football is very different from Dyche’s, which had very clearly not been working.
But in the end, Everton have called on Moyes, who has returned to the club for a second spell after leaving in 2013 for Manchester United.
He’s not so dissimilar from Dyche, but can arguably get his teams to be a more more attacking.
In the eyes of Richard Keys, after the appointments by West Ham and Everton, it’s the latter who are now in better shape.
Taking a pop at West Ham on X, he said: “Karren Brady believes Graham Potter will take trophies to West Ham. I don’t. Strange – because they had a coach that did & they forced him out. Everton will benefit & it’s great to have a Scot working in the PL again. Welcome back David.”
Time will tell if Everton or West Ham made the better appointment
It is going to be fascinating to watch how both Everton and West Ham get on now, after both clubs changed managers.
Seemingly, Everton did have interest in appointing Potter to replace Dyche – but his choice was West Ham.

TFG are taking a risk appointing Moyes because of the similarities to Dyche from a style of play standpoint, but something had to change given the awful performances and results of late.
TFG are likely hoping the return of Moyes will provide the whole club with a lift – perhaps one with more intensity and sentiment than what Potter would have provided.
It could be inspired, but it would also be a mistake. Only time will tell, but TFG certainly cannot be blamed for making the change, especially given Dyche’s admission to them that he felt he’d taken the team as far as he could.
