Everton have been trying to sign a right-back since David Moyes returned to the club almost 18 months ago.

Everton almost signed Kenny Tete from Fulham last summer, but that deal collapsed at the very final stages.

Newcastle United’s veteran right-back Kieran Trippier has been linked to the Toffees recently, along with Arsenal’s Ben White.

Ryan Giggs loves Everton target Neco Williams

It has just been reported that Everton are keeping tabs on Neco Williams ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Toffees have made enquiries for the 55-cap Wales international, who was previously managed by Ryan Giggs.

Giggs was a huge admirer of Williams when he was in charge of the national team and waxed lyrical about the Everton target back in 2020.

“Neco, he comes on the other night and he was fantastic and it was the same today,” the former Man United star said.

The Bournemouth manager has announced he’s leaving… 🤔

David Moyes and Andoni Iraola.

“He has got loads of quality. He has got confidence in his ability and he’s a great lad. He has brought new energy to the group. He showed that in both his cameos in both the UEFA Nations League) games.

“I was umming and ahhing whether to start him today because of the performance he put on the other day, but to come on and, not only his goal, but his overall play was fantastic. So, delighted for him.”

If a player of Giggs’ quality rates Williams, then clearly he’d be a good addition to Moyes’ squad.

Everton have to get it right with their right-back signing this summer so that Jake O’Brien can move back to his most favoured role at centre-back.
